No Foolin' Great iPodery
Hi ho, MMMLogerinos!
Just to be safe, I've waited until the day is nearly done before posting. Gotta say there weren't any tricks suffered in the Haynes household on this April Fools Day. Everything went pretty smooth. It didn't rain, so we got all the yard work done, the dahlias planted and the patio furniture moved outside. Then the weather report for tonight said there's a chance of snow. Sheeeesh. Get out the cane and whup up on those weather guys.
iPod Video Wheeeeeee
While I was in Kingman a couple of weeks ago for the Andrew Rucker wedding, my techy favorite niece, Aimee, advised me to get up to speed on the portable music and video thing. I bought a 30 gig iPod video. My Aimlet loaded it with a nice sampling of Celtic Woman fav tunes as well as a Nelly Furtado and the theme song from Veronica Mars. I've created another rabid Veronica fan in my niece. Except now I can buy TV episodes I've missed and download them to my iPod. Cool! I've yet to download any video to it, but my critique pal, Carol, subscribes to French news and watches it everyday on her 80 gig iPod. Sounds cool. Going to have to cruise the podcast and video listings.
Speaking of podcasts, I cruised the education listings looking for French language instruction. There were a couple of interesting ones, but I have to figure out how to subscribe to episode number one yet. So, I'll just load up the CDs on French immersion I got at Costco. And why is this former Spanish major doing this? I'm going to France in June, that's why. BTW, it was my dad who told me about podcasts and thinks I ought to give it a try. I think he's right. Heaven knows I've got enough material on a vast variety of subjects I've taught that would make for some very interesting podcasts. So stay tuned. I'll let you know when I get it figured out with the RSS feeds, podcast creations, audio editing and all that. Sounds fun, huh! I'm also looking at getting a new hard dark video camera because YouTube is the place to be, baby! I'm about ready to debut a cool MySpace page and am rocking on some other web-based projects, too. Give me a minute and I'll be so techy I may digitize myself! Or my novels. I've been told that my books, especially The Eternal Trust trilogy would make great audio books. I think so too. Check out the excerpts and reviews on the Books page and let me know what you think.
